Middle-earth: Shadow of War is an open-world action-adventure game by Monolith Productions, the direct sequel to Shadow of Mordor. Talion, a ranger of Gondor and the spirit of the elf Celebrimbor forge a new ring of power and raise an army to march on Mordor. The story is original but set within Tolkien's universe, between The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings.

• The Nemesis system — orc captains are generated individually, with their strengths, weaknesses and memory; the one who kills you is promoted and taunts you at the next encounter.
• Build an army — dominate orcs to enlist them, infiltrate them among the enemy, orchestrate assassinations and betrayals.
• Fortress sieges — prepare an assault, choose your points of attack and take on the warlord in place.
• Fluid combat — melee based on counters and combos, archery in slow motion, stealth executions and free climbing.
• Character progression — skills, gem-based gear, ring abilities and different play styles to embrace.
• Large open regions — each with its outposts, side quests and distinct orc tribes.

Activation on Steam

In the Steam client, open Games then Activate a Product on Steam and enter the key received by email. The game joins your library permanently. This is the base game, without the Season Pass expansions.

System requirements

64-bit Windows, quad-core processor, 8 to 16 GB of RAM and a dedicated mid-range graphics card. The high-definition texture pack offered separately requires a lot of video memory and remains optional. Allow around 70 GB of disk space.
