Risk of Rain 2 is a three-dimensional roguelike shooter by Hopoo Games, the direct sequel to the two-dimensional action game released a few years earlier. You are dropped onto a hostile planet and must cross a succession of randomly generated levels, picking up items that accumulate without limit. The difficulty rises continuously with the passing time: the longer you linger, the more numerous and tougher the monsters become, creating a permanent tension between the urge to search the map and the need to press on.
