Obtaining a Confirmation ID (CID) – Office or Windows phone activation service

This service is not a software licence: it is a service for obtaining a Confirmation ID (CID), the confirmation identifier to enter to complete a phone activation of Microsoft Office or Microsoft Windows. You already have a valid product key, but online activation fails or your workstation has no internet access: the CID lets you resolve the situation.

How the service works

• You launch the phone activation wizard on your machine. On Windows, the command slui 4 opens it; in Office, the wizard offers the "Activate by phone" option.
• Windows or Office displays an Installation ID made up of 9 groups of digits.
• You send us this Installation ID by email, specifying the product and edition concerned.
• We send you back the corresponding Confirmation ID within 24 hours at most.
• You enter the CID in the wizard and activation completes immediately.

When this service is useful

• A previously purchased key that refuses to activate online (error 0xC004C003, 0x8007232B or equivalent).
• An isolated, off-network workstation on which online activation is impossible.
• A reinstallation of the same product on the same machine after a disk change.
• A Phone Activation licence that by its nature requires this step.

What you need to know before ordering

The CID is generated for a specific Installation ID. It is only valid for that machine and that configuration: if you reinstall the system or change major components, a new CID will be needed. This service provides no product key and does not replace the purchase of a licence: you must already have a legitimate key.
