ESET HOME Security Essential is the entry-level plan of the new ESET range for consumers, which replaces the former ESET Internet Security. It covers 1 device for 1 year and brings together antivirus, firewall, online payment protection and fraudulent-site filtering. ESET is renowned for the lightness of its engine: protection stays discreet on less powerful machines.

What the protection includes

• Firewall — controls incoming and outgoing connections and hides your machine on public networks.
• Banking and payment protection — opens a secure browser and verifies the authenticity of the site before you enter your codes.

• Anti-ransomware shield — monitors suspicious encryption behaviour on your personal folders.

Compatibility

Windows 11, 10, 8.1 and 7 (SP1), macOS and Android. The covered device is your choice: a PC, a Mac or a smartphone. Certain features, including the firewall, are specific to Windows. Internet connection required for activation and updates.

Activation

Your activation key is sent by e-mail within 24 hours maximum. Create an ESET HOME account, add the licence by entering the key, then download and install the software on the device concerned. The 12-month period begins at activation.
