Monster Hunter Rise is an action-RPG developed by Capcom. You play a hunter from the village of Kamura, a setting inspired by feudal Japan, tasked with taking on giant creatures in open zones. The game loop is simple and devastatingly effective: hunt a monster, carve it up, forge a better weapon and armour from its materials, then take on a harder monster.

What awaits you

• Fourteen weapon types — from the heavy great sword to the bow via the insect glaive, each with its own set of animations and its way of reading the monster's attacks.
• The Wirebug — the major addition of this instalment: a grapple that lets you move vertically, recover after a fall and trigger special attacks.
• Wyvern Riding — take control of a monster to hurl it against another.
• Palamute and Palicoes — two animal companions that accompany you in solo, one for movement speed, the other for support.
• Co-op hunts — up to four players online on the same quest, with an adapted difficulty.
• Rampage — a village defence mode against waves of monsters, with defensive installations to place.

Activation on Steam

In the Steam client, open Games then Activate a Product on Steam and enter the key. The game is added to your library. Multiplayer runs through Capcom's servers and requires an Internet connection.

Windows 10 64-bit, a quad-core processor, 8 GB of RAM and an entry to mid-range dedicated graphics card. This instalment is significantly lighter than Monster Hunter: World and runs well on modest configurations. Allow around thirty gigabytes of disk space.
