Subnautica, by Unknown Worlds Entertainment, is a first-person underwater survival and exploration game. Your ship crashes on a planet entirely covered by ocean: you survive in an escape pod with a fabricator as your only piece of equipment. All progression comes through diving — gathering materials, crafting tools, upgrading your oxygen supply, building vehicles and liveable bases — and through descending into ever darker and more unsettling depths. The game has practically no weapons: it relies on tension, preparation and escape.
