Windows Server 2022 Standard is the reference server system for SMEs and lightly virtualised infrastructures. It hosts the Active Directory directory, file shares, network printing, DNS and DHCP services, an IIS web server or a business database and allows two Windows Server virtual machines on the licensed host. Beyond that number of VMs, the Datacenter edition becomes more economical.

Activation

The product key is sent by email within a maximum of 24 hours. After installation, enter it in Settings > System > Activation, or in an administrator command prompt with slmgr /ipk YOUR-KEY followed by slmgr /ato. Phone activation remains possible for an offline server.

64-bit 1.4 GHz x64-compatible processor with NX, DEP and SLAT, 2 GB of RAM minimum, 32 GB of disk space, Gigabit Ethernet network card, UEFI and TPM 2.0 recommended. Client Access Licences (CALs) are required for connected users or devices.
